Yes, I am a teacher, but it does not mean that I have to stick myself in schools only; that I shall not try to do other things than teaching; that I shall not venture in different fields. Yes, I am a teacher and I will always be a teacher, maybe not in practice (for the meantime), but by heart, I know, I always will.
However, I am also a learner for I have a thirst for new knowledge, have a desire for new adventure, and am hungry for self-improvement. While I am comfortable being a teacher, I am not afraid to step out of my comfort zone, to explore new world and expand my horizons. This is not even the first time though.
For before I became a teacher, I was a writer; before I was a writer, I was a researcher; before I was a researcher, I was a production assistant, and before I was a production assistant, I was a neophyte trying to build a career in the corporate world. Yes, I have done all those things because each job is an opportunity to grow. I may have been wasting my time being indefinite with my career goals, but the truth is I am not. I am on the road towards my ultimate dream. Every skill, every knowledge is an additional experience under my belt. Every experience, good or bad, is a story to tell.
I’m done regretting the wrong decisions that I made. I’m done whining at my soi-disant failure. It’s time to modify my plans and take a new course. I’m closing this chapter of my life as it has also closed its doors for me. I’m ready to face new challenges. Life is a learning process. It’s an adventure. Don’t stop learning. Don’t stop dreaming. Just keep moving. Keep believing.
